Offering a range of telehealth services

In our research, we asked consumers about their intent to use four different types of telehealth services (1) urgent care, (2) annual checkups, (3) behavioral health, and (4) dermatology. The responses suggest that consumers, especially parents, intend to adopt a wide range of telehealth services.

For instance, 77 percent of wave 2 respondents interested in telehealth services were interested in using multiple telehealth services (two or more), with 30 percent interested in using all four. Only 23 percent of respondents had no interest in going beyond a single telehealth service.

Parents are even more interested in using a variety of telehealth services, with 85 percent intending to use two or more services. As many as 40 percent of parents are interested in using all four services. This is likely due to the variety of health care needs managed by the head of the household and the increased importance of convenience.

At MDLIVE, we have observed increased telehealth services use over time for many of our users. In 2019 more than 30 percent of our behavioral health patients also used one of our other services.
